daily prayers

As I seek to integrate my faith and work, I ask God to fill me afresh with His Spirit, realizing that there are tasks that feel larger than me, decisions that seem too big to make alone, circumstances that feel complex.

Work can be a gift of joy.  It can also be a source of misery.  I take a moment to share with God the joys I experience at work and thank Him for his goodness and faithfulness.  I also pray for the pain points that are causing misery:  where I might feel stuck, bored, or confused.

I pray for humility so that I might be willing to face the tasks, decisions, and circumstances with wisdom and compassion.

  • I want to be better at my job.

  • I want to grow as a person and in my position.

  • I want to believe in others and see them thrive.

God, I know that you hear me.  The more I call to you, the more I draw closer to your presence.  It is in your Presence where I experience delight and joy.  I lift up to you the joys and pain points of work, realizing that you gave us work as a gift to enjoy and to serve others.  It is not just about me and my needs.  I serve a bigger purpose that includes others.  Thank you for your faithfulness.
